5-Day Mount Kenya Rugged Wilderness: The Untamed Kamweti Route

5 Days

Introduction

The Kamweti Route is one of the least frequented trails on Mount Kenya, offering a remote and wild approach from the southern forested slopes. The trail begins near the Kamweti Forest Station and winds through thick bamboo, montane forest, and high moorland before joining the Summit Circuit. Trekkers using this route enjoy unspoiled wilderness, unique flora and fauna, and a quiet path to Point Lenana. This route is recommended for experienced hikers who appreciate off-the-beaten-path adventure and rugged terrain.
